Salt & Pepper Grinders
Filling & Refilling
- Hold the glass base in one hand and twist the stainless-steel top counter-clockwise until it lifts off completely.
- Your grinder ships empty — fill the glass base with your own salt, peppercorns, or whole spices using the included silicone funnel.
- Coarse salt and whole peppercorns work best; very fine, pre-ground salt can pack down and clog the mechanism.
- Keep the fill below the threads, set the top back on, and screw it clockwise until snug.
Everyday Use
- Flip the grinder upside down over your food, with the glass base pointing up.
- Hold the top steady in one hand and turn the glass base clockwise to grind.
- Keep moisture out of the chamber — wet spices cake up and jam the mechanism. Grind over dry food and store it somewhere dry.
Adjusting the Grind
- Turn the small black dial on the very top of the grinder.
- Counter-clockwise = coarser grind. Clockwise = finer grind.
- Adjust a little at a time and test over a plate until it's right.
Cleaning & Care
- Take it apart: unscrew the dial, then lift out the clear nylon washer, the ceramic grinding mechanism, and the spring.
- Brush or wipe the ceramic mechanism and dial clean with a dry brush or dry cloth — keep them completely dry.
- Reassemble in reverse: spring, ceramic mechanism (line the square of the ceramic up with the square on the metal screw), nylon washer, then the dial.
- Deep-clean about twice a year, and always make sure everything is 100% dry before refilling.
Never get the ceramic dial or grinding mechanism wet. Clean it with a dry brush or a dry cloth only — no water, no dishwasher. Moisture ruins the ceramic and makes the grinder cake up and jam. If it ever does get wet, let it air-dry at least 12 hours before using it again.
Common issues & fixes
My grinder won't grind or feels jammed
Most jams are moisture, not a defect. Empty it, take it apart (dial → nylon washer → ceramic mechanism → spring), brush every part dry, and let it air-dry at least 12 hours before refilling with dry spices. Avoid grinding over steam and don't store it anywhere damp.
Barely anything comes out
Check that the coarseness dial isn't turned all the way to the finest setting (fully clockwise), which can choke the flow. Back it off counter-clockwise a couple of turns.
The grind is too fine or too coarse
Turn the black dial on top — counter-clockwise for coarser, clockwise for finer — a little at a time until it's right.
It's hard to fill or refill
Unscrew the stainless top all the way off (counter-clockwise) so the whole opening is exposed, then use the included silicone funnel.
There's rust or spotting on the metal
Dry every part completely before reassembling, and never put the metal parts in the dishwasher — trapped moisture is what causes spotting.
The ceramic burr is chipped or broken, or the glass cracked

Salt & Pepper Shakers
Filling & Refilling
- Hold the glass base in one hand and twist the stainless-steel base counter-clockwise until it unscrews completely.
- Fill the glass base with the salt, pepper, or spices of your choice using the included silicone funnel. (The funnel isn't included with the single 1-pack.)
- Screw the stainless base back on clockwise until snug.
Everyday Use
- Flip the shaker over your food and shake — it dispenses through the top.
- Control how much comes out with the pour setting (below).
Adjusting the Pour
- Turn the stainless-steel lid on top to rotate through the settings: finer flow, coarse flow, open pour, and closed.
- Set it to “closed” to seal in freshness between uses.
Cleaning & Care
- Unscrew the three parts: the stainless base off the glass base (counter-clockwise), and the stainless adjustment dial off the stainless base.
- Clean each piece separately with a damp cloth. The glass base is dishwasher-safe; the metal parts are not — wipe those by hand.
- To clean the adjustment dial, give it a quarter-turn clockwise and wipe the exposed plastic, repeating until all of it is clean.
- Make sure everything is fully dry before refilling. Deep-clean about twice a year.
Common issues & fixes
Nothing comes out when I shake it
First check the pour setting — turn the stainless lid off “closed” to finer, coarse, or open. If it's still blocked, the holes may be clogged with damp spice; unscrew, wipe the lid and holes clean, and let everything dry fully before refilling.
It pours too much or too little
Rotate the lid through the settings (finer → coarse → open) until the flow is right; “closed” seals it completely.
The lid feels loose or won't seat
Line the threads up and screw the stainless base and lid back on snugly. If a thread is stripped or a part is cracked, open a support ticket.
There's rust or spotting on the metal
Always dry the metal parts by hand and never run them through the dishwasher — only the glass base is dishwasher-safe.
The glass cracked or a part broke
Open a support ticket and we'll replace it.
